Celebrating the Life of STAC Member, Brian Stucka 

It’s with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of Brian Stucka, a long-term member of STAC and member of the Executive Board. Brian passed away on April 27th, 2024, at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, surrounded by family and friends.

Brian had a successful three-decade career in the options trading industry, including his time as a market maker on the Cboe Global Markets trading floor, where he shared an office known as the Sage Group with his father Dan, brother Daryl, and several other fellow traders and close friends. He then worked directly for Cboe Global Markets as a software analyst, which led to subsequent roles with trading tech leaders, most recently FlexTrade. His work colleagues described him as "truly a pleasure to work with, and universally liked by anyone he interacted with."

Brian was known for his zest for life, his grand stories, and his quickness with a smile or a joke. Brian is survived by his wife Elaine, his parents Dan & Norene, his brothers Daryl & Tim, and close relatives across the Stucka & Johnson families. Our thoughts are with them all.

He will be sorely missed.
